I am not an orphan

” I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you” ….John 14:18

The Lord was well aware of the time He had predicted when lawlessness would abound and the love of many would grow cold. (See Matthew 24:3-12) Without their heavenly Father spiritually present to them, the Lord foresaw a time when His followers would be spiritual orphans, and He promised that He would not leave them in that desolate, comfortless state.

There are many believers in the world today who still haven’t taken this promise to heart. Though they have received Christ as their Lord and their Saviour, they still feel like orphans deep down. They still act as if they don’t have a Father in heaven who has promised to be a real Father to them in every way (2 Corinthians 6:18). They live a life in competition with other brothers and sisters in the faith and behave more like unruly orphans in a physical orphanage rather than as beloved sons and daughters who are learning to reign as kings and priests

Beloved, you might look helpless and hopeless today but I have a good news for you …you are not an orphan!

We are all prone to be orphans by reason of the world we live….but one thing is certain that we are not serving a dead God or an absentee God whose grave is in Jerusalem. Our God is alive and unchangeable. He is abundantly able to save, deliver and meet all needs.

Who is an orphan?
1.Anyone who lacks defender or an advocate: 1Timothy 2:5,Hebrew 7:35 He is interceding for us 24/7 Jesus is standing for us and defending us. An advocate knows all about the circumstances of the client. When Christ’s intercedes for us, He is aware of our weaknesses, inadequacies, and frailties. Jesus brings all of the facts to the table on our behalf. Just as An advocate presents case in words and emotions that are beyond human understanding so is our Lord Jesus Christ He will always defend you..you are not alone.

2. Someone who Lack confidant. Pr 18:24 He is a friend you can confide in. Who can I talk to, who can I confide in. he wants your success and will never join CNN to broadcast evil news about you. he is. A friend , he is a brother….and indeed a great confidant who you can open your heart to you need to talk to somebody ,,,,talk to Jesus ( I have a friend in Jesus….)

Who is an orphan?
3.Somebody who lacks provider: ps 23:1, Philip 4:19 God is my provider therefore I can say I am not an orphans. I do not beg but when need arises He always raise people to meet my need at any point in time ……I am not an orphan because I have Jesus, He is the Lord our spiritual Provider. “mana in the wilderness, water from the rock, fed 5,000 etc. the bible says “i am young now I am old I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread” I therefore have a father who can never forsake me to the point of knocking anybody’s door to beg because I am not an orphan!

Who is an orphan?
4.Somebody who have no guide: Ps 119:105. 1 John 2:20. ,ps 48:14″For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.” Whether you realise it or not, you are on a voyage through life. In the course of your life you will encounter both smooth sailing and tempestuous seas brought on by raging storms, or trials of life. You must realise that the Captain, Jesus Christ, is the only One who can pilot your boat safely into harbour. There is a well-known bumper sticker that says, “God is my co-pilot,” but if the Lord is only your co-pilot and not your Pilot, and you have control of the wheel, then watch out! you will learn that if you decide to take control of your own life and take the helm away from the true Captain, then this will only result in the sinking of your ship. I am not an orphan I have a guide and an instructor in the holy spirit.

5. Somebody that walk alone: Deuteronomy 31:8, it says:”The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. He says I will not leave you, I will come to you” like the Israelites in the desert, we so often lose sight of the promises that go before us. Even with a column of fire and pillar of cloud to lead their way, they lost sight of God’s sure love for them and presence with them. Life in the wilderness was too hard and they wandered into doing their own thing. But again and again, God said to them, “I’m not going anywhere”. He did not leave them, he did not forsake them, even in their sinfulness or self righteousness. What joy and what hope that gives me now! I know and belong to a God, a Father, who will never leave or give up on me. I am indeed not an orphan!
Ahitophael may betray his David, Judas may betray his Jesus.. Jesus will not betray me. I am not an orphan even if my parent or any one forsake me Jesus will never forsake me. When he say to you he will not leave you be rest assured.

Beloved I want you to come to a realisation that You are no longer an orphan who has been cheated out of a father’s blessing! You are a joint-heir with Jesus (Romans 8:17), seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) and called to live a full life as a beloved prince or princess in the kingdom of our God and Father!
