Overflowing and Efficacy of God’s Mercy

Overflow means to run over, to be boundless. To be filled beyond capacity or surplousity. Overflowing mercy therefore implies the abundance of mercy of God. Psalms 86:5 speaks of Him as being PLENTEOUS in mercy. Ephesians 2:4 speaks of Him as being rich in mercy, and Psalms 51:1 speaks of the multitude of mercies of God.
It is infinite. Psalms 86:5 speaks of Him as being plenteous in mercy. Ephesians 2:4 speaks of Him as being rich in mercy, and Psalms 51:1 speaks of the multitude of mercies of God.

GOD’S MERCY IS ETERNAL. Not only is it infinite, but it’s eternal. Psalms 103:7, it tells us this: “But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting, upon them that fear him and his righteousness unto children’s children.” So, His mercy is eternal. His mercy endureth forever! In Psalms 136, twenty-six times in that one chapter it says those words exactly, “His mercy endureth forever.” God’s mercy is not only overflowing, but it’s ever flowing as well

Ps 145:8-11 8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works

WHAT IS MERCY?
There are so many synonyms are used to express it. These include: “kindness”, “loving kindness”, “goodness”, “grace”, “favour”, “pity”, “compassion”, and “steadfast love”.Dictionary divine mercy as “Kindness in Excess of what may be expected or demanded by Fairness; a Disposition to Forgive; Forbearance and Compassion.”

Bible Dictionary: “The Outward Manifestation of Compassion.” Hence, we can infer that mercy is an act of Exoneration, pardon, forgiveness for obvious errors and mistakesSetting aside the right to punish; kindness that can’t be explained;

it is a Divine blessings in spite of your faults and mistakes
Mercy is not the fruit of our goodness, but the fruit of God’s goodness.

MERCY is a divine quality in which unworthy people receive Grace. The dimension of God’s mercy is boundless,
Mercy, grace, and sometimes favour are often used interchangeably but they are actually separate entities Favour makes you receive without asking and if you ask you get more than what you asked for.
Grace makes a man function in life and achieve spectacularly but without much struggle. Grace makes a person’s achievements sweatless, stressless, and debtless. Mercy is part of the unmerited favour and grace that believers enjoy. In Exodus 34:6, God describes himself as “the merciful and gracious God” showing us that His grace and merc
Mercy make a person to receive what he or she does not deserve.
Ecclesiastes 9:11: “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither bread yet to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understandings, nor yet favour to the men of skill, but time and chance happeneth to them all.”My understanding of the above scriptures is that advancement does not necessarily go to those that work the hardest and that the skill and intelligence is not automatic gate way to success but by the prerogative of God’s discretion – mercy. In other word mercy.

overflowingIt does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. Romans 9:13-16 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
David did everything wrong under the sun but the mercy of God kept speaking for him but the mercy of God expired on Saul and God put him away after one transgression: it is my sincere prayer for the reader of the article that the overflowing of God will not expire over your life in Jesus name.
God’s mercy brings about forgiveness the bible tells us that mercy triumphs over judgment. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.(Lamentation 3:22) However, God’s mercy means that he does not treat us as our sins deserve. That is the message of Psalm 103.10 –those exact words “he does not treat us as our sins deserve, or repay us according to our iniquities”. Think about that for a moment. Where would you be if it wasn’t for God’s mercy. You would not be here. You would not have woken up this morning. You and I are deserving of judgment. We are deserving of destruction and punishment and condemnation. But God’s mercy means that we are not treated as our sins deserve. God’s mercy means we can be forgiven Mercy covers up your errors and lapses. If God were to mark iniquity, who can stand?

Mercy does not answer to geographical location or the economy of a given country to prosper. when the mercy of God is upon a man, no matter where you are living you will prosper. God favoured ISAAC and was blessed in a famine land. In Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. It was not the natural abilities or talents of Isaac but God’s mercy by supernatural intervention into the natural laws of the earth,. Invariably, when there is divine mercy in operation all natural or artificial laws is suspended to move people to the next level of greatness. May the mercy of God removes every obstacle on your way and move you to the next level in Jesus name.oi

Mercy can reverse every irreversible
The most profound of all the miracles Jesus performed during His earthly ministry were on the platform of mercy and indeed reversing the irreversible. The New Testament records three of these resurrection miracles, including the raising of a widow’s son, of Jairus’ daughter, and of Lazarus. Luke the physician is the only one to record the raising of a widow’s son (Luke 7:11-17). It is interesting that each of the three resurrection miracles reports the dead person in a different stage of death from the other instances. When Christ raises Jairus’ daughter to life, she is still in the bed where she had died only a few hours earlier. The widow’s son lies in an open coffin on his way to his grave when Jesus performs the miracle. Finally, Lazarus is already in the grave and has been dead for four days by the time Christ arrives and raises him from the dead (John 11:39).

-Mercy singled out that man, (mercy will single you out)
-Mercy provokes your miracles
-Mercy justifies you for greatness
-Mercy terminates long time problems
-Mercy brings HEALING
-Mercy opens doors of opportunity
-Mercy can bring you into remembrance
-Mercy qualifies you for uncommon favour
-Mercy of god enables you to see what other people don’t see.
-Judgment of the enemy is subdued when the mercy of god speaks for you.

Voice of mercy:
The only thing I know clearly is that, I have never seen anybody in the bibles who cry for mercy and does not receive it. Take a look at the following bible characters among others

BLIND BARTHEMEAUS
The blind Barthemeus in the Bible cried, “Jesus, the son of David, have mercy on me.” And he got his sight back.
I guess he must have been crying out for money; now he cries out for mercy…and our Lord is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4)…He has plenty of mercy to give. He receive a voice of mercy from Jesus that terminated his period of pain and suffering.
WOMAN CAUGT IN ADULTERY: John 8:1-11
Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
11 “No, Lord,” she said.
And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” This is a voice of mercy from Jesus to this woman
Mercy does not recognize whether you a sinner or not, mercy glories over judgment, mercy does not interested in the kind of life you are living, mercy does not want to know your past,
HANNAH RECEIVES VOICE OF MERCY
I Samuel 1:10, “In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD… So much so that Eli the priest though she was drunk…
Verse 15, “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.” Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.”- voice of mercy.

THE OPPRESSED PEOPLE (Exodus 2:23, 24).
During Israel’s bondage the Bible says, “During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.” Exodus 2:23-2 – voice of mercy. I pray that as cry for mercy today your prayers will not go to voice mail of God rather HE would hear your cry and show forth his undeniable mercy upon you.

HOW TO POSITION YOURSELF FOR OVERFLOWING MERCY
1.Prayer:To engage the mercy of God, you must spend time at the throne of grace which is the altar of prayer. Hebrew 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

2. Be merciful:To engage the mercy of God, you need to be merciful in life. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy”. Show mercy to people.Just as God has freely extended his mercy to us believers despite our unworthiness or unfaithfulness, he expects us to show mercy to our fellowmen, even though they may not deserve it or seek for it. The bible enjoins us to show mercy to the poor, the needy, widows, and orphans. (Prov.14:31, 19:17, Micah 6:8, Zech.7:9-10, Col.3:12)

3. sow the seed of righteousness to reap mercy:
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Isaiah declares: “let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon” (55:7). In the Magnificent, Mary declares, “and his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation” (Lk. 1:50).

Beloved, after you have done everything you know how to, throw yourself on the mercy hand of God. The mercy of God never fails.

Prayers:
1-As the Lord liveth and as my soul liveth, the grace and mercy of God shall not evaporate or expire over my life!!!
